Planetary Energy Forecast January 2026
Hello my dear friends, and welcome to January 2026. If you thought 2025 was a wild ride, you should adjust your expectations. This is going to be a year that changes the trajectory of history and repeats patterns that have changed the entire World indelibly.
What will make the first few months of the year feel particularly intense is the fact that the planets are packed together in one part of the sky. This amplifies the karmas being worked out in 2-3 areas of your life.
January places the emphasis on the Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces sectors of our charts. Remember that when the planets walk together closely in what we call a conjunction (2 planets) or stellium (3 or more planets), it is considered neither “good” nor “bad.” It’s just … a LOT.
When the planets walk closely together, they must find ways to cooperate and there is not just a singular influence.
I think this grouping of Mercury, Venus, Sun and Mars all in Capricorn will help us to find our dedication, discipline and direction through mid-month.
After a very sparkly New Moon on the 18th, the energies one by one shift into Aquarius and get some quality time with Pluto, the planet of the underworld. This brings tension and some darker influences.
By the time we encounter the astrological New Year on March 20, 2026, we will be living in a different world.

January 1 Mercury in Sagittarius just finished arguing with Saturn, now in a difficult angle to Neptune in Pisces. Mercury into Capricorn. This could make the mind feel uncertain, heavy.
January 2 Venus, Sun, Mars all walking together in Capricorn; this will inspire hard work and dedication. Lock in those resolutions!
January 3 Full Moon Cancer 13 degrees 5:03 am EST. Across the sky is not only the Sun but Venus and Mars all in Capricorn. Big emotional endings.
January 6-10 Sun merging with both Venus and Mars, which weakens both of them. Aries, Taurus, Libra, Scorpio people will be exhausted. All begin to argue with Jupiter in Cancer across the sky. You must find a balance between the inner and the outer. The harsh and the sensitive. Between your home and safety and the outer world and success.
January 10-12 Sun, Mars and Venus square Chiron; painful truths emerge OR you realize how much you have grown. Note the super long Moon void 12:54 pm until the 11th 5:55 am EST.
January 13-14 Mercury in Cap begins to oppose Jupiter in Cancer; big ideas are challenged by the rules, requirements, reality.
January 15-16 Venus in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Pisces, trine to Uranus in Taurus, minor grand trine, still close to Sun and Mars. This is hugely beneficial. Mercury joins the Stellium in Capricorn which helps the mind to focus. Some very good energy building here if you can dedicate yourself to doing the work; don’t miss out on this beneficial time period.
January 17 Venus in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces, just be careful financially this can inspire over-optimism. Venus into Aquarius, she becomes much more analytical. Sun in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Aries, trine Uranus in Taurus. Watch for exciting information, downloads, new information.
January 18 Super positive New Moon 2:52 pm EST at 28 Capricorn. Conjunct Mars, Mercury Venus; also sextile Saturn in Pisces, Neptune in Pisces. Moon shifts into Aquarius later that day and conjuncts Venus and Pluto. Mercury in Capricorn conjunct Mars and sextile Saturn in Pisces. Huge amount of energy to manage, big push to do things. Set audacious intentions that are future-oriented and based on the new paradigm.
January 19 Mercury steps past Mars in Capricorn and trines to Uranus in Taurus; expect unexpected ideas or news to arrive. Sun in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces and then shifts into Aquarius at 8:45 pm EST. Venus conjunct Pluto in Aquarius. Stellium now spans from Mars at 26 Capricorn to Pluto at 3 Aquarius. Massive amount of energy. Stay focused and avoid contention, disputes, manipulation, confusion. Potential financial shakeups.
January 20 Mercury in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces and then Mercury into Aquarius which makes the Stellium more Aquarian. See if you can feel that distinct shift in the energy from Earth to Air. Mars is at 27 Capricorn; Mercury, Sun, Pluto, Venus, Moon all in Aquarius. Saturn in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus exact. Mars in Capricorn trine to Uranus, sextile Saturn in Pisces.
January 21 Sun Mercury merge together in Aquarius, look for the ah-ha moment.
January 22 Mercury conjunct Pluto Aquarius; be careful of lies, deceit, coercion. Due to the Pluto involvement with all of the planets, big caution flag goes up from now through the end of the month. SLOW DOWN.
January 23 Mars in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces; exciting ideas that require effort. Mars into Aquarius. Sun and Pluto merge together in Aquarius. Now the Stellium is alllll Aqua. Massive aspects to the Pisces and Aries Moon. Glimpses of the future; you may not like what you see.
January 24-25 Mars in Aqua begins conjunction to Pluto; caution flag for violence, accidents, weather events, group karma. Another long Moon void 4:36 pm EST to the 25th at 1:05 pm EST.
January 26 Neptune into Aries 12:37 pm EST; very notable. A cycle that began in April 2011 ends and a new 14-year cycle begins. Aries is very different than Pisces. I’m afraid the drumbeat of war will be heard.
January 27 Mars conjunct Pluto in Aquarius exact; potential violence. SLOW DOWN. Avoid difficult people. Preserve your peace.
January 27-31 Mercury and Venus walk together in Aquarius. Careful with decisions, you might be too detached or analytical; in the positive it could help you to make a bold choice.
